Samuel A. J. Coleman, 72, a 47-year resident of Troy, formerly of Pontiac, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at Courtyard Manor of Farmington Hills. He was born Aug. 3, 1935, in Brosley, Mo. Mr. Coleman was a former firefighter for Station #2 in the Troy Fire Department, and was assistant chief of Fire Station #5 in the Troy Fire Department. He was a member of the Troy Traffic Committee, on the Troy Police Diving Team, and a Life Member of the NRA. He retired in 1999 after 40 years as owner and operator of Coleman's Towing and Recovery in Troy. Samuel will be missed by his family and many friends. He was predeceased by parents William and Rosie Coleman; daughter, Veronica Coleman in 1966; and siblings Orville Coleman, Jean Gallamore and Merle Graham. He is survived by wife, Shirley (Morgan) Coleman, whom he wed April 9, 1957 in Angola, Ind.; children, Byron A. J. Coleman of Ocoee, Fla., Shane A. J. (Ann) Coleman of Troy, Mich.; grandchildren, Nathan A. J. and Katie Louise; siblings, Belva Chasteen of Olean, N.Y., William Howard Coleman (Maxine) of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Leslie Carl Coleman of Amarillo, Texas, and Eva Emmons of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
