Elsie Kandel Boycott, 84, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at her home in Kalispell, Mont. She was born Feb. 11, 1923, in Detroit to Julius and Myny (Pries) Kandel. Elsie worked at Garner-Shelton Co. in Detroit where she met Frederick George Boycott. They were married Sept. 13, 1947. She was later employed by the Detroit Osteopathic Hospital Corporation as a medical transcriptionist. She and Fred retired and moved to Kalispell, Mont. in 1988 to be near their grandchildren. Elsie was a generous spirit who enjoyed trips with her family and square dancing with Fred. She also enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. She enjoyed Trinity Lutheran Church and her women's Bible study. She was a wonderful wife to Fred, loving mother and grandmother, and, according to her grandchildren, she made the best lasagna ever. Survivors include her children, William F Boycott of Lander, Wyo., Kathleen S. Boycott-Kuhlin of Kalispell, Mont.; her grandchildren, Sandra A. Kuhlin-Shappell and her husband Jared and Samuel J. Kuhlin and their father, John Kulllin, all of Kalispell, Oakley Corsick-Boycott of Lander, Wyo., and her mother, Diane M. Corsick; Elsie's sisters, Lydian Hahn and Mildred Deman, both of Michigan; and various nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; sister, Tillie Moore; brother, Edward Kandel; and parents, Julius and Myny Kandel. Funeral services for Elsie will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007 in the Glacier Church on Grandview Dr., with Pastor Hal Irvine officiating. Burial will be in the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Johnson Mortuary Chapel.
