Donald R. Dennis Sr., 76, of Royal Oak, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. He was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Detroit, Mich. Mr. Dennis has lived in Royal Oak all of his life. He retired from the Royal Oak Post Office in 1985 as a letter carrier after 32 years of service. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He was involved in many Model A clubs — the MARC, Oakleaf, Motorcities and East Side Model A clubs. Surviving are his wife, Nancy, whom he wed July 28, 1951, in Berkley, Mich.; children, Donald (Janet) Dennis Jr. of Rapid City, S.D., Marie Riley of Howard City, Mich., Karen (Michael) Cass of Roseville, Mich.; siblings, Carl (Sally) Dennis of Saline, Mich., Frances (Richard) Haskins of Royal Oak, Jackie Thomas of Traverse City; grandchildren, Ryan, Geoffrey, Dawn, Andy, Breana and Brittany; and great-grandchildren, Lili and Madelynn. Visitation, 3-9 p.m. Sunday at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre; services, 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home; cremation, Southern Michigan Cremation Service, Royal Oak; memorials, Oakleaf Model A Club.
