Edgar W. Carlson, 92, a Berkley resident for 60 years, died Sunday, July 22, 2007, at home. He was born Sept. 4, 1914, in Shafer, Minn. Mr. Carlson was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Force. He received a bachelor's degree in engineering from University of Minnesota. Mr. Carlson retired from Ford Motor Company as an engineer with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Gideon's for 35 years. He served a prison ministry for 25 years and was an active member of Cana Lutheran Church for 60 years. Mr. Carlson was predeceased by his parents and siblings. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Lauretta; children, Terry (Penny) Carlson of Berkley, Karen Carlson of Oak Park, Linda (Ron) Morrison of Commerce Township and Donna (John) Nicles of Oak Park; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation, 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 W. 12 Mile, Berkley; further visitation Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral at Cana Lutheran Church, 2119 Catalpa, Berkley, with the Rev.
