Richard George Fogo age 70 of Bellaire formerly of Troy Mich. passed away peacefully on December 18 2010 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center after a 12-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born on March 21 1940 in Highland Park Mich. to Robert and Gladys Fogo and grew up in Royal Oak. Richard graduated from Dondero High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. From 1958 to 1962 he proudly served in Okinawa the Philippines and other overseas bases. On May 4 1963 he married Beverly Grace Charlesworth in Royal Oak. Together they had five children: Jeffrey (Sue) Fogo of Traverse City Jennifer (Dan) Byce of East Jordan Marc (Amy) of Bellaire Matthew (Sue) of Boyne City and Patrick (Mary) of Troy. He was an accomplished businessman and entrepreneur. He retired in 2000 from Ziebart International as a franchise development manager. He loved spending time with family and friends at their lake house. He enjoyed doing research on the family genealogy and watching his favorite sports teams on TV or being a spectator at his grandchildren's sporting events. He is survived by his five children and eleven grandchildren brother Neil (Carol) of Indiana a sister-in-law Virginia (Herb) O'Brien of Berkley and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly of 46 years his parents and his in-laws Donald and Dorothy Charlesworth. Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 28 2010 at Church in the Hills Bellaire at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Andrew Pomerville officiating.
