Lownsbury, V. Ann; age 79; of Royal Oak; died March 4, 2015. She was born April 7, 1935, in Lockport, NY, to Clayton and Evelyn Thomas. Mrs. Lownsbury was a teacher at Mark Twain Elementary School in Royal Oak for 35 years, a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, and Northbrook Presbyterian Church, Beverly Hills. She sang in several area church choirs and enjoyed music, arts and crafts, cooking, entertaining, and animals. Surviving are her husband, Mark, whom she married in 1957, in New York; nephews, Jon, Jeffery, and Philip; sister-in-law, Martha Lownsbury of Muskegon; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Jon Thomas and Rosemary Campos. Visitation Thursday 2 to 8 p.m. Service Friday 11 a.m. at the Kinsey-Garrett Funeral Home, 420 S. Lafayette, Royal Oak.
