Elaine Classen Doane age 94 of Howell formerly of Royal Oak died Wednesday October 27 2010. She was born June 5 1916 in Detroit the daughter of J. Frank and Lydia (Suess) Burkhardt. Beloved wife and life long friend of Edward Doane whom she married on September 29 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Howell. Loving mother of Joyce (Dahn) Bjorkman of Ariz. Tom (Pandora) Classen of Calif. grandmother of three and great-grandmother of four. Elaine is preceded in death by her first husband Raymond Classen (1971) whom she married in September of 1936 son Robert Classen and brother Norman Burkhardt. Elaine was a graduate of Cooley High School in Detroit. She was a secretary of Covenant Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held Saturday November 20 at 11 a.m. (visitation 10 a.m.) at First United Methodist Church 1230 Bower Street Howell. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in Howell or Covenant Baptist Church in West Bloomfield or Detroit Rescue Mission.
