Winifred Clare Haylett age 89 a resident of Pleasant Ridge since 1938 died October 2 2010 at her home. She was born August 11 1921 in Clawson. Ms. Haylett served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in Washington DC from 1943-1946. She graduated from the University of California Northridge with a BS in human resources; and received her master's degree from Oakland University in guidance and counseling. She retired from the engineering department of Michigan Bell Telephone Co. in 1982 after 42 years of service. She was a member of the Michigan Bell Pioneers Club Women in Military Service and the American Legion Post in Bradenton Florida. She is survived by her nieces Susan Haylett deRoos Marianne (Ken) Schmanske Barbara Seitz Christina (Andy Wood) Haylett Patrice Seiler and Kathryn (Rick) Ebaugh; many great- nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert W. and Lydia Haylett; brother Fred (Irene) Haylett; and nephew Robert W. Haylett. There will be Memorial visitation Saturday 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak with the Rev. Steven Wertanen officiating. Inurnment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. Memorials to St. Mary Catholic Church 730 S. Lafayette Royal Oak MI 48067. Arrangements by Wm.
