Join Cindy La Ferle and other writers and journalists for three monthly workshops on Wednesdays designed to sharpen your writing, self-presentation and public relations skills.
On Sept. 7, Actor/author Lisa Peers will use theatre exercises to help improve your writing and self-presentation confidence.
On Oct. 5, La Ferle and writers Claire Charlton and Pam Houghton will offer a panel discussion "Publicity 101" to offer tips on how to write a press release and how to promote and publicize your business or event.
On Nov. 2, La Ferle will host "Writing Your Own Hero's Journey," a personal writing class aimed at telling your life story as a journey where you look at the highs and lows of your life as story material. La Ferle, a columnist for Michigan Prime and author of Writing Home, a book of essays and articles, has offered many popular memoir-writing classes at the library.
All of the free workshops will run from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm in the Friends Auditorium. Registration is requested. Limit 30. Visit ropl.org or telephone the Adult Reference Desk at (248) 246-3727.
