At least 1 out of every 10 adults who are 60 years old or older experiences abuse every year in the United States. It is no different in our area. There are ways to protect yourself and resources available to help heal. On Saturday, January 28 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, join experts from Disability Network Oakland Macomb as they discuss elder abuse in many forms, and the reasons for reporting or not reporting it are explored. Specific strategies to identify elder abuse as it happens and what to do about it are also discussed.

This presentation is free to participants and is geared towards older adults, adult children, community organizations, business members, banks, and any other member of the community interested. This one-hour presentation will be followed by a question and answer session. Registration is requested. Limit 100. Register below or call the Adult Reference Desk at (248) 246-3727 to sign up for this free program.

Please note that parking is free at the Royal Oak Farmers Market lot until 1:00 pm on Saturdays.
