Practice conversational English in a relaxed setting with other ESL learners on Saturday mornings from 10:30am to 11:30am in the library's auditorium. A brief video or presentation will be shared at the beginning of the hour to introduce the week’s topic and offer conversation starting points. Registration is not required. These 30-minute story times for ages 5 and under with their adults incorporate many enjoyable pre-reading skills including stories, rhymes, songs, finger plays, movement, and a craft. The same program is repeated on Monday and Wednesday mornings.

Registration System for All Story Times: Story times are “Ticketed Drop-In” which means there is no advance registration. On the day of the program, visit the Youth Services Information Desk and pick up a numbered ticket which will be available 15 minutes before the program begins. Most story times have 24 spots available.

ROPL has a book club just for kids ages 8-11 in grades 3-6! Join us for a lively book discussion, activities and a light snack centered on the featured book. Participants will get a copy of the book to keep when they sign up in person at the Youth Services Desk. Limit 15 per session.

When the twelve-year-old narrator’s grandmother gives him a lawnmower, the youngster decides he might as well earn a few bucks. He meets Arnold, an investor with a cash-flow problem, who promises to buy stocks for him as payment for a freshly trimmed yard. With all the energy of a bull market, this brief farce has summer escapism written all over it.

Researching your family history can be made easier by using the popular database Ancestry Library Edition, which the public can access at the library. In this class, Hatter will show you how to search the most complete set of U.S. census records available online in one place, along with important family documents such as birth, marriage and death records.

Wednesday, April 26, 2017: Breaking Down Your Genealogy Brick Walls
What do you do when you hit a "brick wall" in your genealogy research? Hatter will share strategies to get beyond your trouble spots and breathe new life into your research. Bring your own "brick wall" problems to class and get advice on what to do next.
