Genealogist and librarian Sarah Hatter will return to offer a two-part genealogy series on Wednesdays, starting April 19 at 7:00 pm in the Friends Auditorium. Enhance your research with the following session:

Researching your family history can be made easier by using the popular database Ancestry Library Edition, which the public can access for free at the library. In this class, Hatter will show you how to search the most complete set of U.S. census records available online in one place, along with important family documents such as birth, marriage and death records.

These story times are for the youngest children, infants to 15 months, and their caregivers. Enjoy 30 minutes of literacy building activities for babies including songs and rhymes and sharing board books. Older siblings may attend, but these sessions are designed for babies up through 15 months old. Join the fun!

Do you want to work with animals? Here’s the opportunity for hands-on experience with weeks-old baby goats. Registered therapy dogs are here to listen to children read to them in a one-to-one setting. It is fun and helps improve reading skills because the dog listens attentively and does not judge, laugh, or criticize. Registration is required for this program. Practice conversational English in a relaxed setting with other ESL learners on Saturday mornings from 10:30am to 11:30am in the library's auditorium. A brief video or presentation will be shared at the beginning of the hour to introduce the week’s topic and offer conversation starting points. Registration is not required. These 45-minute sessions are designed for preschoolers who enjoy more extended stories, movement, music and crafts. Adults stay with the children and younger siblings may attend but these sessions are developmentally appropriate for ages 3-5.
